Contadi Castaldi is a historic name within the Franciacorta territory; a territory rich in history and traditions. "Contadi" were, in medieval times, the counties of Franciacorta, while the "Castaldi" were the lords of the counties who were entrusted with the governance of the lands. The Franciacorta Saten Contadi Castaldi sparkling wine is made from Chardonnay grapes, harvested between the end of August and the beginning of September, vinified in purity after a gentle pressing and a static cold decantation.
The first aging lasts for 7 months and is carried out partly in steel and partly in barriques, while the aging process on the lees lasts for 30-36 months.
