Allimant-Laugner

The Domaine Allimant-Laugner is located in Orschwiller, in the heart of the Alsace Wine Route, at the foot of the historic Château du Haut-Koenigsbourg. Its history dates back to the 17th century, when the Laugner and Allimant families began cultivating vines respectively in Dieffenthal and Saint-Hippolyte. In 1816, Captain François-Antoine Allimant purchased the current estate, where winemaking had already been taking place since 1724, as evidenced by the pediment of the historic cellar. Today, after more than eleven generations, the family continues to enhance the Alsatian wine heritage, producing wines that best express the local terroirs. With its 12 hectares of vineyard, the Domaine represents a reference point for those seeking authenticity and tradition in Alsace, with a constant focus on quality and respect for the environment.

different: clay-limestone in the south, ideal for Pinot, and granite in the north, which impart aromaticity to Riesling and Gewurztraminer. Of particular note is the coteau of Praelatenberg, cultivated since the 9th century and now classified as Grand Cru, thanks to its granite-gneiss soil capable of producing typical and elegant wines. The vines, with a density of over 5,500 plants per hectare, root deeply, best expressing the terroir.

The Domaine produces a wide range of labels, from classic Alsatian varietal expressions to Gentil, including exceptional cuvées such as Grand Cru Praelatenberg and the selections Vendanges Tardives and Grains Nobles. Great attention is also given to sparkling wines, with Crémants d’Alsace Blanc and Rosé made according to traditional methods, which now represent half of the production and contribute to the winery's notoriety in France and around the world. 2024 marked the three-hundredth anniversary of the historic stone cellar, restored to celebrate three centuries of winemaking: a symbol of continuity and dedication that the family is committed to passing on to future generations.
