Panoramico
Panoramico was born from a recent project by Daniel Rodrìguez and Alejandro Estebas. When they arrived in the Iregua valley, in the northern part of Rioja, they stumbled upon ancient vines at risk of uprooting due to their low productivity. They decided to preserve this forgotten heritage made up of ancient vineyards, with which they want to communicate the traditional imprint of Rioja. Their idea is to produce wines that respect the territory where they were born, the people who live there, and the nature that surrounds them.
With Panoramico, Daniel and Alejandro have revived the old lost ‘majuelos’, which are small ancient plots with unique soil and climate characteristics for the region. The founders understood the importance of working in the vineyard, staying in close contact with local artisans who have cared for the vines with great passion and commitment. Their wines are born from indigenous varieties such as Tempranillo, Garnacha, Viura, and Malvasía, cultivated at high altitudes on limestone soils. The grapes are hand-picked and selected with minimal intervention in the vineyard, allowing each plant to express themselves authentically.
Daniel and Alejandro define Panoramico as their ‘atelier’ because they experiment with the grape as a painter does with colors on a canvas. Here too, the approach is minimalist, using indigenous yeasts and spontaneous fermentations, with minimal addition of sulfur. They prefer 500-liter oak barrels for traditional aging, but also experiment with oxidation as in the label ‘O’ which ages for 4 years in empty barrels. Production is limited to a few thousand bottles, which are numbered and sealed by hand, each capable of offering a unique ‘panorama’ of true Rioja.
