The Pinot Bianco “Praesulis” from the Alto Adige winery Gumphof is as complex and elegant as it is pleasant and joyful. Its multifaceted personality makes it suitable for any occasion and allows it to gradually reveal always new and unexpected characteristics of itself. It often requires long periods of oxygenation to fully open up in all its intensity. The winery, owned by Markus Prackwieser Gump Hof, combines the careful and skilled hand of the winemaker with the exceptional nature of the territory. The morainic, calcareous, and gravelly soils, enriched by the quartz porphyry of Bolzano, and the temperature excursions created by the currents from Lake Garda and the Dolomites, create a unique terroir of great quality. It is a suggestive and charming environment, just like that which characterizes this “Praesulis”.

The Gumphof “Praesulis” is born from the selection of the best Pinot Bianco grapes. They come from vineyards located at 400-500 meters above sea level in the area south of the Isarco Valley.Isarco, at the foot of the Sciliar massif. The lands plunge into the valleys, reaching slopes of 70%. After the harvest, the grapes are transported to the winery and gently pressed. The resulting must undergoes alcoholic fermentation for 2/3 in steel containers and for 1/3 in tonneau. The same quantitative proportions are maintained during the aging phase, where the wine matures for 2/3 in steel and for the remaining 1/3 in tonneau, for about 8 months.

“Praesulis” Pinot Bianco has an intense straw yellow color. Its aroma heralds style and class, displaying an initially fruity and floral bouquet of white fruit, citrus, and white flowers, then highlighting fine balsamic notes of mint and aromatic herbs. On the palate, it confirms elegance, with freshness emerging, perfectly balanced with the body and integrated into a pleasant aromatic delicacy. Suitable for everyday or special occasions: what matters is to savor it slowly, preferably in a rather wide glass that enhances its unique characteristics.
