"Rossobruno" fra Le Verzure er en toskansk rødvin lavet på druer Sangiovese i renhed, som modner i 18 måneder i store egetræsfade fra Slavonien. Den kommer fra de umiddelbare omgivelser af Montalcino og udtrykker sig i behagelige dufte af ribs, friske mandler, læder og orientalske krydderier, hvilket afslører en frisk og harmonisk smag, fyldig og intens med bløde, fløjlsagtige og vedholdende tanniner.

The “Rossobruno” is a Tuscan red produced by the Le Verzure winery a few kilometers from the production area of Montalcino, near Siena. It is a young agricultural reality founded in 2000 from wild fields, rich in vitality, where sheep and livestock grazed freely. In this fertile land, Antonia Villa and her husband decided to plant, on 6 hectares of land, indigenous grape varieties such as Sangiovese grosso, used precisely to produce this label with a genuine and territorial character.

The “Rossobruno” from Le Verzure is made from pure Sangiovese grapes grown in a small plot of land in the Tuscan Maremma, where there is a commitment to maintain the rich soils through sensitive and respectful practices towards the ecosystem. In the vineyard, the principles of biodynamic agriculture are followed, allowing only non-invasive fertilizations and treatments, and during the periods of inactivity of the vines, legumes and aromatic herbs are sown in the vineyard to enrich the soils with organic matter and small insects that promote the biodiversity of the system. Every process, both in the vineyard and in the winery, is carried out strictly by hand. During flowering and veraison, the bunches are carefully selected to have a maximum of five bunches per plant; low yield in favor of excellent quality. After the manual harvest, the fruits are brought to the winery in small boxes where they are destemmed and pressed. Spontaneous fermentation, carried out by indigenous yeasts, takes place in large Slavonian oak barrels where the liquid then matures for 18 months before bottling and rests in the bottle for an additional 6 months before being released for sale.

The Sangiovese Le Verzure appears in the glass with a bright ruby red color, with reflections that shift towards orange. As soon as the bottle is opened, it shows itself slightly shy, but after a handful of seconds, it releases various and captivating aromas; fresh almonds, leather, and black pepper intertwine with fresher and fruitier aromas of currants and small berries, making the olfactory bouquet wide and well-balanced. The sip is rich and material, supported by an excellent acidic backbone that gives dynamism and tasting tension. A Tuscan wine in which a soft and well-defined tannin emerges in the structure. Excellent to drink now, but also to keep in the cellar and rediscover in a few years!
