Bolla
The Bolla Winery was founded in 1883 in Soave by Alberto Bolla, who developed a passion for wine from a young age in the family tavern "Al Gambero". From there, he began selling local white wine to the taverns in the area, achieving immediate success, reaching as far as Verona and Venice. In 1902, together with his brothers, he opened the restaurant "Il Calice" in Venice. A turning point came in the 1930s with the entry of his son Giorgio, a passionate winemaker, who contributed to the decision to open a new production site in 1931 in Pedemonte, in the heart of Valpolicella Classica. Here, the production of red wines such as Recioto, Valpolicella, and Amarone began, thus expanding the offer alongside Soave. Pedemonte still represents the historical and symbolic heart of the winery today. In 2006, Bolla became part of the Gruppo Italiano Vini, which preserves its founding values: quality, passion, and connection to the territory.
The winery's production philosophy is based on the union of tradition and innovation, respecting the territory of Valpolicella. The vineyards extend over calcareous-clay soils that give structure and finesse to the wines. Indigenous grape varieties such as Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, and Garganega are cultivated. The historic Cantina del Nonno, in Pedemonte, houses oak barrels from Slavonia dating back to 1883 and hosts over 1,700 barriques and 35 tonneaux used for aging the reds. Amarone, one of the most representative wines, is aged with great care to enhance its aromas and structure. Every phase of production is carefully monitored to ensure quality excellence, keeping the connection to history alive.
Among the most representative products are Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG, Recioto, and Soave Classico, emblems of Veronese tradition. Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore, with its balance of freshness and complexity, enriches the offer. The winery is also today a welcoming place: at the historic site in Pedemonte, visitors and enthusiasts can discover the world of Bolla through guided tastings. A brand that has managed to renew itself while remaining true to its identity.
