Château Gros Moulin

In the territory of the Côtes de Bourg, on the right bank of the Dordogne, lies the Bordeaux winery Château Gros Moulin, a winery that boasts a winemaking history of almost three centuries. The castle is located right at the gates of the town of Bourg-sur-Gironde and has been owned by the Eymas family since 1757. Until the 1800s, mixed farming was practiced on the estate, with the vine accompanied by other crops such as wheat. Over the centuries, the Château has changed hands among various generations, who have gradually expanded the property, now led by Jacques and Rémy Eymas, committed to maintaining and indeed further improving the high quality standards of the wines that the family has always produced. In particular, Rémy, who represents the eleventh winemaking generation of the Eymas, officially joined the estate in 2010, after completing his agronomic studies and assisting his father in managing the family Château.

The property of Château Gros Moulin covers about 30 hectares of vineyards, reserved for traditional Bordeaux varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Sauvignon Blanc. The vines are planted on hilly soils that enjoy an excellent south-facing exposure, overlooking the Dordogne River. The soil matrix is clay-limestone and limestone-sandy, and after harvesting, the grapes are carefully selected in the winery. Here, the grapes often undergo a brief cold pre-fermentation maceration, with the subsequent fermentation entrusted to indigenous yeasts. For the fermentation process, concrete tanks are used, the same material often utilized for the subsequent maturation phase along with the inevitable French oak barrels, new or used.

Blanc ‘Les Lys du Moulin’, a white wine with a rich and complete sensory profile.
