Chateau La Rose Bouquey

In the prestigious wine-growing context of Saint-Émilion, along the right bank of the Dorgogna river, lies Chateau La Rose Bouquey, a Bordeaux winery committed to enhancing the established wine tradition of the area. The vineyards of Saint-Émilion are the oldest in the entire Bordeaux region, dating back about 2,000 years, to the time when the Romans planted the first cuttings. It is one of the most important denominations of the territory, whose production is centered on Merlot, unlike Médoc, the area on the opposite bank of Bordeaux, where Cabernet Sauvignon reigns. Due to the dominance of Merlot, the wines of Saint-Émilion are usually very approachable even in youth, thanks to the characteristic softness of the tannin that defines this variety.

The vineyard property of Chateau La Rose Bouquey is dedicated to the classic Bordeaux varieties Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, cultivated near the beautiful medieval town of Saint-Émilion. The vineyards are represented by plants with an average age of 35 years, rooted in soils characterized by ahigh presence of clay and sand. Only once the grapes have reached the optimal ripening stage is the manual harvest carried out, with the bunches being pressed in the winery in stainless steel tanks. In these winemaking containers, alcoholic fermentation occurs in contact with the skins, for a period that varies depending on the vintage. This is followed by aging for about a year in French oak barrels, containers capable of enriching the aromatic complexity of the wine and softening its taste.

The wines of Chateau La Rose Bouquey, marketed under the illustrious denomination of Saint-Émilion, stand out for their captivating aromas of berries, flowers, and spices. They are reds to be enjoyed both young and a few years after the harvest, pairing them with aged cheeses or with various meat dishes, such as roasts and stews.
