La Regina del Quartuccio
La Regina del Quartuccio was born in 2020 in the heart of Tuscia in Viterbo at the behest of Remo Bartolomei, a young winemaker raised among the vines. Harvesting, once a family ritual shared with relatives and friends, has over time become a life choice and an entrepreneurial project. The name of the winery is an intimate homage: “Regina del Quartuccio” was the nickname of Remo's mother, a central and inspiring figure. With the support of friends, passion has transformed into a profession, while still maintaining an artisanal dimension. A young winery that intertwines family memory and territorial identity.
In the vineyard, on the volcanic soils of Tuscia, La Regina del Quartuccio adopts agricultural practices that respect natural balances: no synthetic herbicides, minimal soil tillage, spontaneous cover crops, and treatments reduced to the strictly necessary. Plant health defense is preventive and targeted, with constant observation of each plot. The processing of micro-plots, thanks to their small size, allows for precise interventions and calibrated manual harvests, to preserve the integrity of the fruit and biodiversity.
In the winery, La Regina del Quartuccio follows a minimal approach: spontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeasts, no additives, natural decantations, and filtration only if essential. The goal is to accompany the must without forcing, working the grapes with care already in the vineyard, to minimize any corrective intervention. The small production scale becomes a value, as it allows for constant observation, experimentation, and clear traceability from vineyard to bottle. In the glass, the wines express dynamism and taste transparency. They are lively wines, readable, never constructed, that favor authenticity and rhythm. Each vintage is an authentic expression of passion, territory, and commitment in the vineyard.
