Monte del Fra'

In Sommacampagna, a municipality in the province of Verona located just southeast of Lake Garda, lies the important Venetian reality Monte del Frà, a family-run estate that is the protagonist of a wide selection embracing the oenological excellences of Veronese. The foundation of the winery dates back to 1958, the year in which Massimo Bonomo started his agricultural project based, in addition to wine production, on the cultivation of peaches, strawberries, and wheat to diversify risk. 1988 is the turning point, when Eligio and Claudio, Massimo's sons, directed the estate towards a purely wine-growing focus. In the following years, the winery underwent a gradual expansion, and today brothers Egilio and Claudio are joined by the third generation of the family, represented by Marica, Silvia, and Massimo, a family team that, embracing a production philosophy based on the union of tradition and innovation, is committed to enhancing the area. The name Monte del Frà refers to the history of the territory, a history dating back to 1492, when the land where the estate stands was cultivated by the friars of Santa Maria della Scala, dedicated among other things to wine production.

The Monte del Frà estate extends over more than 200 hectares of vineyards, planted on morainic soils characterized by a presence of limestone, clay, gravel, and varying skeleton depending on the reference subzone. Based on these pedological parameters, applying sustainable agronomic practices, the Bonomo family cultivates the varieties Turbiana, another name for Trebbiano di Lugana, Garganega, Trebbiano Toscano, Incrocio Manzoni, Cortese, and Friulano among the white grapes, Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, and Molinara for the black grape varieties. In the winery, fermentations take place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, while for the subsequent aging periods, various wine containers are adopted, from steel to large barrels, including barriques and concrete tanks.

always interpreted through a clean style and commendable pleasantness.
