Pietrapura

PietraPura is a Salento brand that is part of the renowned Tuscan entity Rocca delle Macìe, launched on the market with the aim of enhancing indigenous grape varieties by producing high-quality territorial wines. In pursuing this goal, the Zingarelli family, owners of Rocca delle Macìe, collaborates with several important entities in Salento, including the Terre di Sava winery, a key player in the Notte Rossa wines. The vinifications are entrusted to Luca Francioni, the expert oenologist of Rocca delle Macìe. PietraPura is part of the broader "Collezione Zingarelli" project, which brings together various Italian entities such as Villa Vescovile in Trentino, Fratus in Franciacorta, Macchialupa in Campania, Fantin Nodar in the Colli Orientali del Friuli area, and Ascheri in the prestigious Barolo territory, wineries with which the Zingarelli family collaborates to face the challenges of national and international markets.

The focus of the PietraPura brand is on Primitivo and Negroamaro, considered the most important grape varieties in all of Salento. In particular, Primitivo reaches its maximum qualitative potential in the Manduria area, from which come the grapes vinified by the Zingarelli family for the PietraPura project. These are partly very old vineyards, enjoying the Mediterranean and breezy climate that characterizes the area. After the harvest, the bunches are processed through fermentation with controlled temperature maceration, aimed at enhancing the aromas of the wines. Once the maceration period is completed, the process continues with the racking and soft pressing of the pomace, aimed at extracting the must impregnated in it. At this point, the wines are aged in French oak barriques, containers capable of adding further complexity to the wines.

The labels signed by PietraPura reflect the warmth and softness of Salento wines, serving as ambassadors of the territory in the world. Among the highlights of the production, the Primitivo di Manduria Riserva ‘Cotis’ stands out, a rich and spicy expression of the grape.
