Casalforte
Casalforte is the premium brand of Cantine Riondo that represents the Premium line of classic wines from the Verona area. It is a selection of labels created to enhance the great tradition of the territory and dedicated to enthusiasts and connoisseurs in search of excellence. It is part of the Collis-Riondo group, one of the largest and most important realities in the Veneto area, founded in 2008 with the intent of becoming a reference point for Venetian wine in the national and international market. The group has a vineyard area of over 6,000 hectares, managed by 1,800 farmer members.
The vineyards are mainly located in three important areas of Veneto: Valpolicella, the Soave area, and the Vicenza and Padua area, mainly intended for the cultivation of Glera for Prosecco production. Thanks to its presence in these three historic territories of the region, Collis-Riondo is able to offer a range of wines that represent the best excellences of Venetian wine. The project was born from the desire to focus mainly on native grape varieties and the most representative wines of the tradition, to showcase the authentic face of the territory. The main cultivated grape varieties are the native ones: Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Garganega, Glera, and to a lesser extent the international varieties: Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Pinot Nero, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon.
