Camossi

Camossi is a productive reality of Franciacorta, a wine region located south of Lake Iseo, in the province of Brescia, one of the most important areas in Italy for the production of Metodo Classico. A varied terroir, within which the Camossi family is situated, always committed to the cultivation of vines in the surrounding area of Erbusco. The winery was established in 2005, from the meeting between Dario and Claudio, representatives of the third generation of the family, and Nico Danesi, a leading oenologist promoting the project “TerraUomoCielo”, aimed at safeguarding the agricultural world through the creation of distinctive bottles. A truly enlightening meeting for Dario and Claudio, which leads the Camossi winery to produce, since 2014, labels that follow the SoloUva method, according to which the grapes are harvested with late harvests, only when they are phenolically ripe, without using exogenous sugars during vinification.

Today, the Camossi winery extends over about 24 hectares of vineyards, located between Erbusco, Paratico, and Provaglio d’Iseo.Three areas where the vineyards present different characteristics from each other, ideal for creating identity-driven clusters, perfect for producing balanced and expressive cuvées. Among the rows, two international varieties are cultivated, one white grape, Chardonnay, and the other red grape, Pinot Nero. In the vineyard, work is carried out with rigorous attention, while in the cellar, the SoloUva method is followed, which involves the exclusive use of sugars from the clusters during all phases of winemaking. Thus, in primary fermentation, secondary fermentation, and the addition of any dosage syrup, exogenous sugars are banned, to ensure a final product that is a vivid expression of the initial fruit.

Camossi is today one of the most interesting Franciacorta realities that has emerged over the last decade, guaranteeing sparkling wines of great cleanliness with each harvest, where a pleasant freshness is the key to enjoying satisfying toasts. An interesting range, which goes from the most immediate products up to the vintages and reserves, true enological gems that reveal all the skill of Dario and Claudio.
