Quintia
Located in the beautiful context of the Regional Park of the Colli Euganei, the wine reality Quintia is managed with love and artisanal care at a strictly family level. The history of the winery began in 1999 in the hamlet of Fontanafredda, in the municipality of Cinto Euganeo, where Franco Sinigaglia embarked on this beautiful adventure with the idea of producing wines that reflected the characteristics of the territory. Today Franco is supported in the activity by his wife Fabrizia and son Matteo, forming a family team that embraces a production philosophy based on respect for the environment.
The vineyard property of the Quintia estate extends over just 5 hectares of vineyards located in the heart of the Colli Euganei, cultivated by the Sinigaglia family in accordance with the principles of organic farming, certified since 2015. The ventilated microclimate of the area allows for the production of healthy grapes with few treatments, carried out rigorously with the sole use of sulfur and copper. The plants, some over 40 years old, rest on hilly soils of volcanic origin located at an altitude equal to 180 meters above sea level, characterized by a high concentration of trachyte and clay marls, very ideal for quality viticulture. Based on these pedoclimatic and environmental parameters, the Sinigaglia family cultivates both traditional Venetian varieties, such as Garganega, Moscato, and Incrocio Manzoni, as well as international grape varieties, such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Carmenere, always with very low yields in grapes per hectare. Also due to the significant slopes of the vineyards, field operations are carried out by hand, including of course the harvest, which is accompanied by careful selection of the bunches. The winemaking approach excludes any invasive intervention, with strictly spontaneous fermentations, skin macerations even on whites, and the rejection of additives and enological aids. Both cement tanks and old oak barrels are then used as wine containers.
This is how the wines of the Quintia winery are born, authentic and genuine expressions endowed with exceptional verticality, capable of reflecting the mineral soul of the Colli Euganei.
