Zanovello

The Venetian wine reality Ca’ Lustra Zanovello is located in the heart of the Regional Park of the Euganean Hills, a territory that the Zanovello family preserves with the utmost respect for the environment. The origins of the estate date back to the mid-1960s, when Angelo Zanovello purchased the farm of Faedo, located on the southern slopes of Monte Venda, the highest of the Euganean Hills. It was his son Franco, a great enthusiast of viticulture, who brought the Ca’ Lustra project to life in 1977, initially using the dark cellar of the Faedo farm. Today the estate, which has meanwhile seen the vineyard area expand, is managed by Franco's children, Marco and Linda Zanovello, who continue the path laid out by their father. The brothers' goal is to enhance the different expressions of the Euganean Hills territory while safeguarding the health of the environment. Not by chance, Ca’ Lustra is part of VinNatur, an association born with the aim of bringing together winemakers intent on defending the integrity and winemaking tradition of their territory through an ecological production approach.

Zanovello extends over 42 hectares, of which 25 are reserved for vineyards and the remaining part is allocated to olive groves, woods, and pasture. The plots are distributed in heterogeneous sub-zones, each with its own altimetric and pedological characteristics. In general, the altitudes range from 180 to 400 meters above sea level, while the soils, always of volcanic origin, are mostly marl, composed of clay and limestone, with occasional presence of sand and gravel. The varietal platform includes the local grapes Moscato Giallo, Moscato Bianco, Pinella, Marzemina Bianca, Incrocio Manzoni, Garganega, and Glera, as well as the international Merlot and Cabernet, all cultivated under certified organic farming. In the winery, fermentations are entrusted solely to indigenous yeasts, while the wine containers adopted are predominantly stainless steel tanks and wooden barrels. Throughout the entire processing, the use of clarification operations is excluded, and the addition of sulfites is kept to a minimum. The wines produced by the Ca’ Lustra Zanovello winery encompass different types and styles, all characterized by a dimension
