Pic Albert
The Maison Albert Pic & Fils was founded in 1755 and has been producing white wines with great territorial expressiveness for many years. The house is located in the region of Chablis, northwest of Burgundy, and was recently purchased by Baron Patrick de Ladoucette. The goal of the house is to capture every precious nuance of Chardonnay and translate it into a unique and exclusive Chablis. Among the various estate crus, the Premier Cru “Chablis Pic Premier” stands out.
This wonderful expression of Chardonnay is made possible by the favorable location of the owned vineyards, situated in the most suitable areas for the cultivation of this variety. The soils, rich in fossils, are composed of marls and clayey limestone, which give the wine a pleasant mineral imprint. The climate of the region is continental, marked by hot summers and cold winters, with a certain frequency of the dangerous and feared spring frosts. To attempt to remedy, at least in part, these problems, the maison is constantly and wisely present in the vineyard, directly following the course of nature. The agricultural practices adopted by Maison Albert Pic & Fils are entirely focused on respect and environmental care, just as the winemaking techniques and phases are aimed at preserving the fruit and its terroir intact. With this purpose, in the cellar, only the use of steel and concrete tanks is planned, completely renouncing the use of wooden barrels.
Albert Pic & Fils is an artist and a great painter capable of painting, capturing the finest details, the portrait of a prestigious and renowned grape variety, making it the absolute protagonist of a loving and tireless passion.
