Di Lenardo

The Di Lenardo winery was born from the ambition of the family from which it takes its name and boasts two centuries of history. It was founded back in 1848 in Ontagnano, in the heart of Friuli, and for decades the production of wines was mainly aimed at the local clientele. With the arrival of Massimo Di Lenardo in 1987, the winery has shown new vitality and great development, expanding towards the foreign market: hence the choice to dedicate itself to the cultivation of international grape varieties and the decision to give many wines English names.

The vineyard of the Di Lenardo family extends over 52 hectares in the Friulian plain and is distributed in different areas with different subsoils and microclimates: three plots surround the small village of Ontagnano; another is located near Palmanova. We find ourselves in the famous production areas of the Friuli Grave, Friuli Aquileia, and Colli Orientali del Friuli regulations. The vines grow on gravelly soils, typical of this area; they are trained in unilateral guyot and can reach 40 years of age. The cultivated indigenous grape varieties are Friulano, Refosco dal Peduncolo Rossoand Verduzzo.

At the Di Lenardo winery, a great productive commitment is made towards the pursuit of maximum quality and territoriality. Massimo's philosophy is indeed to emphasize the purity of the grapes, using cutting-edge technology and producing unique wines that do not reflect the regional tradition but embody its spirit. Furthermore, as a contribution to the protection of the environment, since 2009 the Di Lenardo winery has exclusively used energy produced by the solar panels covering the entire roof of the structure. From the union of winemaking excellence and deep environmental awareness, modern and appealing wines are born that reflect the soul of Friuli.
