Vigneti Cenci

Vigneti Cenci is a sparkling wine reality in the territory of Franciacorta, run with passion at a family level in search of the expressive purity of the territory. The estate is located in the municipality of Cologne, at the foot of Monte Orfano, a promontory that has always been highly suited to viticulture. It was Nelson Cenci, a doctor, writer, and Alpino, who laid the foundations for the winery in 1960 after acquiring La Boscaiola, a fascinating 17th-century farmhouse located in the heart of Franciacorta, which at the time was in a state of semi-abandonment. He then began an important renovation of the estate and the recovery of the vineyards, quickly restoring the property to its former glory. Currently, the business is carried on by Giuliana Cenci, Nelson's daughter, who has been involved in the management of La Boscaiola since the 1980s, and by Maurizio Bassi, Giuliana's son and Nelson's grandson. Since 2004, the technical management has been in the hands of Massimo Messina, an expert winemaker.

Pinot Nero and Pinot Bianco. These varieties grow on soils rich in skeleton, conglomerate gravel, and mineral substances, with an excellent southwest exposure. The harvest is done by hand in boxes and is followed by the soft pressing of the grapes, with the must obtained fermenting at controlled temperature. In order not to alter the expression of the territory and the grape varieties, the sugars used for the preparation of the tirage syrup come solely from the grapes themselves, thus excluding the use of exogenous sugars for the second fermentation according to the Metodo Classico. The same philosophy characterizes the dosage operation that follows the prolonged aging on the lees.
