Mionetto
Mionetto is an extensive sparkling wine reality in the Prosecco area, in Veneto, that has accompanied the evolution and success of the most famous Italian sparkling wine since 1887. It was Francesco Mionetto, at the end of the 1800s, who started the production activity among the hills of the Valdobbiadene area, an area of excellence for Prosecco, designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2019. After establishing itself over the centuries as one of the most important wineries in the area, in 2008 Mionetto was acquired by the German Group Henkell & Co. Sektkellerei KG, now known as Henkell Freixenet, a benchmark in Europe for sparkling wine production volumes. However, the new owners did not want to give up that philosophy based on the connection with the territory that has always characterized Mionetto, also working to consolidate the commercial image of the winery worldwide. Moreover, among the elements that are part of the estate's history is the desire to innovate and reinvent itself through a far-sighted entrepreneurial vision.
Valdobbiadene, an area composed of numerous picturesque hills almost entirely dedicated to Glera, the symbolic variety of the denomination. This white grape variety benefits from a temperate climate, characterized by significant temperature fluctuations between day and night, and from the varied composition of the soils, from limestone to clay, passing through sand and marls. The sparkling wine production technique adopted by the enologists of Mionetto is based on the Martinotti Method, also known as the Charmat Method, a practice that involves a second fermentation in a temperature-controlled autoclave, aimed at enhancing the freshness and aromas of the sparkling wines.Mionetto is an extensive sparkling wine reality in the Prosecco area, in Veneto, that has accompanied the evolution and success of the most famous Italian sparkling wine since 1887.
